Covid-19 Coronavirus Update
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center opened its drive-thru flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinic located near the entrance of buildings 17 and 19 on the main campus. Veterans can choose whether they want one or both vaccines in the one-stop shop clinic. The flu and COVID-19 vaccines can be taken at the same time as there are no adverse reactions between vaccines.
The drive-thru flu vaccine clinic will operate Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This clinic provides convenience to Veterans who want to get their flu and/or COVID-19 vaccine without the need to schedule an appointment or enter the facility.
Veterans may also receive a flu shot during their next scheduled primary care, specialty care, or mental health appointment. Flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be offered at the medical center’s seven community-based outpatient clinics and notice will be provided via My HealtheVet, Facebook, and your local media outlets.
Veterans receiving the COVID-19 vaccine will have to pull into a designated parking are for approximately 15 minutes to be monitored for adverse reactions. Veterans receiving the flu vaccine do not have to wait and can proceed without delay. Learn more »
